Road Safety Authority

The Road Safety Authority is responsible for driver testing and training, vehicle standards and certain enforcement functions, road safety promotion, driver education and road safety research.

The RSA have recently built a custom made road show vehicle which is to play an integral role in increasing and developing road safety awareness at local and national level. The vehicle will have its first public outing at Road Expo Ireland. It is equipped with an interactive road safety experience, a driving simulator, a motorbike simulator, reaction timers, an exhibition area and a fully equipped presentation area.

Drainage Systems

Saint-Gobain PAM UK is the European leader for access covers and gratings. Our PAM range is uniquely position in the market to provide access and drainage solutions to the highway, telecommunications, utility, commercial and industrial markets. The company focuses on new product development and new services for the end-user.

One of our latest products is the newly launched GripTop^TM range which provides a major innovation in road safety and tackles one of the biggest problems facing motorcyclists and cyclists - metal access covers worn smooth by decades of traffic.

We will exhibiting at the Road-Expo Ireland this year and will also displaying our Infrared Road Repair System in the demo area.

Infoterra

At this year's Road Expo event, Infoterra Ltd, a leading provider of geographic products & services, will be showcasing its mobile laser mapping system - Rapid Surveyor^TM. This uses the latest laser & camera technology to capture precise information of the built/natural environment.

Making up to 200,000 measurements per second, allows new levels of detail to be captured to produce realistic 3D street-level visualisations - all objects captured in their precise locations.

Rapid Surveyor captures precise information of building façades, bridges, road/street furniture, kerb heights, vegetation, road profiling and more - all from a moving vehicle.

This level of information opens up new possibilities for engineering projects - from planning to infrastructure management.
